The Brief:


The Strategy Director builds trust and wields influence with clients and internal partners, providing strategic clarity and leadership to become our client’s indispensable partner.  We are seeking a leader who fearlessly models risk-taking and appetite for change, inspiring all stakeholders to groundbreaking creative thinking. The Strategy Director works with the strategy team and reports to the Chief Strategy Officer to provide business-driven counsel to both internal team memebers and clients.


  • Seeks out and gains knowledge of consumer preferences and relationships to ensure that the voice of the customer is integrated into communication strategy
  • Ensures consumer relevance of the brand communication strategy
  • Develops creative briefs and provides clear persuasive briefings to Creative teams
  • Performs with primary and secondary research that will aid in the consumer insight gathering and strategic planning process
  • Establishes and maintains substantial and influential relationships with client senior management
  • Uses all proprietary planning tools – i.e., BAV, Brand Energy, etc.
  • Interprets and monitors cultural and social trends relevant to client business and competitive landscape
  • Positively impacts the creative product through sharp insights, inspiration and accessing cultural tension
  • Builds upon the digital competencies and social capabilities within the client’s business
  • Establishes indispensability among clients by being the client’s best partner
  • Manages career development of team while enhancing their overall skill set
  • Fosters potential by encouraging a more entrepreneurial environment, mentoring  and mediating
  • Other tasks as assigned


We’d love if it you have:


  • A bachelor’s degree in related field; advanced degree a plus
  • 10 + years related experience (agency experience preferred) with at least 5 years of proven senior leadership; 5+ years of supervisory experience
  • Deep knowledge of relevant product categories and strategic insights into consumer behavior
  • Outstanding verbal and written communications skills
  • Ability to present ideas clearly and concisely
  • Strong knowledge of primary and secondary research methodology, both qualitative and quantitative
  • Comprehensive understanding of marketing practices
  • Expert in practice of planning and global toolbox, specifically eXploring and cultural mapping
  • Thorough understanding of interagency workings
  • Excellent organization, time and self-management skills
  • Detail-orientated, with excellent follow though skills
  • Strong sense of initiative and ability to work under pressure
