Overview

We're looking for a hybrid  data analyst/creative problem solver to join the BAV team!

 

Responsibilities

The Social Strategist seamlessly integrates data with brand building, identifying links between the content, consumer psychology/behavior, and brand strategy. The Social Strategist will support the Director of Social Analytics and Insights in developing the agency’s proprietary social equity model by linking online data (e.g. paid, earned, owned social channels; news, blogs, forums; engagement; search terms; etc.) to Y&R’s proprietary brand model and database BAV®.

 

Our ideal candidate is someone who likes to get their hands dirty, has fluency in statistical tools (SPSS, XL Stat, IBM Watson Analytics, etc), knows social platforms inside and out, and is skilled at working across teams to translate data into actionable strategic insights. This person is self-directed, intellectually curious, and isn’t afraid to think outside the box.

 

Qualifications

  • 1-2 years of social media and digital experience working in an agency/marketing environment developing data-driven insights that may include developing client’s brand purpose, central content themes, campaigns, and channel relevant activations
  • Expert knowledge around key social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, Pinterest, and personal interest in current events
  • Proficiency with data and ability to derive actionable insights, tell compelling stories, and make strategic recommendations using social analytics tools like Crimson Hexagon, Affinio, SimilarWeb, and Quid, as well as Y&R’s proprietary brand model, BAV®
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (particularly Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint); experience with statistical tools like SPSS, XL Stat, IBM Watson Analytics, etc. is a plus
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills with ability to explain technical capabilities in layman’s terms and, more importantly, get people excited about it!
  • Demonstrated project management and organizational skills, with ability to drive multiple projects at once and stay on top of relevant deadlines with minimal supervision
  • Comfortable working in highly flexible, entrepreneurial environments—with an ability to think, plan and execute resourcefully, across multiple tasks, with minimal supervision
  • Intellectually curious, easy to get along with, and calm under pressur
