The Brief

The Human Resources Associate is responsible for managing various Human Resources duties across Y&R NA while servicing an employee population of 300-350 across NYC, Washington, DC, Memphis, Austin, and San Francisco. The HR Associate reports to the Director of Talent, NA and is based in our NYC office.



  • Responsible for all entry and maintenance of HRIS (ADP) database, including new hires, promotions, department changes, transfers, supervisory changes, LOA, terminations, compensation reporting, etc.
  • Process Non-Exempt and Hourly timesheets for Payroll
  • Process Payroll reports for Finance as needed (Pay Register reconciliation, Pay Cut, Pay Override, etc.)
  • Partner with Finance and Payroll Depts. to ensure proper communication of payroll changes
  • SME on all Payroll-related issues, concepts, etc.


  • Prepare offer letters, freelance agreements, relo, visa, housing agreements and assist with background checks
  • Manage employee onboarding experience via ATS (iCIMs)
  • Conduct New Hire Orientations and Benefits Orientations
  • Complete and verify I-9 immigration documentation and submit to eVerify
  • Partner w/ IT & Facilities to ensure proper IT setup, seating, new hire kits, etc.

Separations / Terms

  • Effectively manage and facilitate the employee separation process including exit interviews, surveys, benefits separation, etc.

Other Responsibilities

  • Assists employees and supervisors with basic interpretation of HR policies and procedures
  • Respond to and educate employees on Payroll-related matters and Benefits inquiries
  • Responsible for and maintain all employee files, EEO forms and files for audit preparation
  • Partner with D&I to prepare Affirmative Action reports
  • Research and respond to state unemployment claim requests
  • Support and lead various culture activities and initiatives
  • Other duties may be assigned



We’d love it if you:

  • 1-2+ years of professional experience in a HR-related field, including relevant internship experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in HR-related field preferred
  • HRIS experience with ADP along with Payroll & Benefits knowledge and experience required
  • Knowledge of National Labor Laws, COBRA, 401(k) and best practices
  • MS Office experience required across Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint; Keynote preferred; Google docs
  • Maintains confidentiality and exercises discretion at all times
  • Customer service-oriented personality with the ability to interact with a variety of personalities across levels / disciplines.
  • Ability to remain calm and poised while juggling multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment
  • Superior oral and written communication skills; strong attention to deail
  • Displays a high degree of maturity, self-motivation and initiative; and an ability to assume a high degree of responsibility
  • Proven analytical and problem solving skills
