    The Brief:

     

    As a Strategy Director you will build trust and wields influence both internally and externally. The Strategy Director should command a room and shape outcomes using both personal charisma and competence.  This competence should reflect strong critical thinking, solid creative judgment, and an ability to inspire and sell unexpected, modern marketing ideas.  The Strategy Director can and will provide strategic counsel in terms of brand, portfolio, and innovation strategy. You will lead and support one of the largest and most complex communication campaigns ever launched. It will include everything from traditional television commercials to partnership activation events and more digital components than ever before.

     

    Responsibilities

    • Seek out and gains knowledge of consumer preferences and relationships to ensure that the voice of the customer is integrated into communication strategy
    • Ensure consumer relevance of the brand communication strategy
    • Be the “honest broker,” engendering respect in order to persuade clients to operate outside conventional wisdom and comfort zone
    • Develop creative briefs and provides clear persuasive briefings to Creative teams
    • Perform with primary and secondary research that will aid in the consumer insight gathering and strategic planning process
    • Establish and maintain substantial and influential relationships with client senior management
    • Use all proprietary planning tools – i.e., BAV, Brand Energy, etc.
    • Interpret and monitor cultural and social trends relevant to client business and competitive landscape
    • Positively impact the creative product through sharp insights, inspiration and accessing cultural tension
    • Build upon the digital competencies and social capabilities within the client’s business
    • Establish indispensability among clients by being the client’s best partner
    • Manage career development of team while enhancing their overall skill set
    • Foster potential by encouraging a more entrepreneurial environment, mentoring and mediating
    • Be prepared for other tasks as you may be assigned

    Qualifications

    We'd love it if you:

     

    • Have a bachelor’s degree in related field. Advanced degree a plus
    • Have 8-12 years related experience with at least 5 years of managerial experience
    • Have deep knowledge of relevant product categories and strategic insights into consumer behavior
    • Have outstanding verbal and written communications skills
    • Are able to present ideas clearly and concisely
    • Have strong knowledge of primary and secondary research methodology, both qualitative and quantitative
    • Have a comprehensive understanding of marketing practices
    • Are an expert in practice of planning and global toolbox, specifically eXploring and cultural mapping
    • Have a thorough understanding of interagency workings
    • Have excellent organization, time and self-management skills
    • Are detail-orientated, with excellent follow-through skills
    • Have a strong sense of initiative and ability to work under pressure
