  • Overview

    The Strategy Director for the US Census 2020 assists with the overall marketing strategies and plans to support all elements of the Census 2020 business. The incumbent will focus on Creative, Media Partnerships, ESO, and Campaign Optimization with an overall approach to reach target groups. In this role, the incumbent will lead development of strategies and consumer insight to drive the needs of the business.  They will provide ongoing support for the development of Creative briefs and provide clients with innovative solutions to their marketing needs.


    • Help lead the development of key marketing and strategy plans for US Census 2020, with a particular emphasis on CRM Strategy.
    • Drive integrated marketing strategy across multiple marketing disciplines including all forms of advertising and marketing communications and all available and emerging channels. Provide an over-arching strategy for use across multiple target markets and populations.
    • Ultimate integration of data into the Creative brief and strategies across all target markets and populations.
    • Work with Account Management team to provide strategic solutions for Census clients.
    • Provide input into Creative briefs for executions across all media and target markets.
    • Work in collaboration with the Account and Creative leadership to provide seamless development and execution of an integrated strategy for clients.
    • Work in partnership with the EVP, Strategy & Research to build a team of world class Strategy professionals.
    • Manage and mentor Strategy Staff in the Y&R DC office.



    • Expert knowledge in CRM strategy, marketing research, data analysis, branding strategy, account planning, and integrated marketing communications across multiple channels
    • Strong experience in digital/emerging media, direct marketing methodology 
    • In-depth knowledge of integrated marketing and marketing research disciplines (including qualitative, quantitative, digital and social methodology)
    • Outstanding oral and written communications skills
